GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 151952
totem + gstreamer backend will not play certain QuickTime codecs.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I have a video file, foo.mov, that is a QuickTime file containing twos audio and jpeg video. The gst-launch-ext script generates a gstreamer pipeline that successfully plays the file: gst-launch-0.8 filesrc location="foo.mov" ! qtdemux name=demux { .video_00 ! queue ! spider ! ffmpegcolorspace ! xvimagesink } { demux. ! queue ! spider ! osssink } However, when I play the file using totem, totem states, "An error occured Could not determine type of stream." I am using totem-0.99.15.1, gstreamer 0.8.5 and gst-plugins 0.8.4.
Can you upload the file somewhere and give a link to it?
I was not able to upload the file when I made the report. The suspect QuickTime is not available at: http://www.flyn.org/random/acronyms.mov I won't be able to leave it up for more than a week or so because it is very large (55MB). Is there a place where one may submit problem media files so that they will be available for future regression testing?
Mass reassign.
I fixed this a few days ago. The file acronyms.mov now plays fine with current CVS of Totem and gst-plugins+gst-core+gst-ffmpeg.
The stream now works with totem totem 0.99.17, gstreamer 0.8.7 and gstreamer-plugins 0.8.5. I am going to remove http://www.flyn.org/random/acronyms.mov.
