run "gnucash --nofile".  Select File > Import > Replay GnuCash .log file.
Enter "foo*" in the dialog, hit return.  Gnucash crashes.  It does not seem 
to matter if the wildcard matches files or not.

This bug occurs in 1.8.9 and in the CVS 1.8 branch whose most recent ChangeLog
entry is titled 2004-18-21  Derek Atkins  <derek@ihtfp.com>.
