GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 149060
during recursive copy, existing directories at dstination are removed
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
copy a subtree of directories into a place where directories with same names already exist. Expected: Overwrite files only (if user confirms overwrite), but do not delete existing directories prior to copy. Actual result: Existing directories are completely removed before copy starts. This behaviour is different from that of any other file manager or cp command and is quite dangerous.
That is nasty. Bug is actually in gnome-vfs, but was fixed without a bugreport in that product. The bug was reported in nautilus, so marking duplicate of that one. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 48085 ***
