Description Christian Persch 2004-08-01 18:31:53 UTC
Mozilla now supports this, see http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28998
The prefs is 'network.proxy.type' with value '4'.
Comment 1 Christian Persch 2004-08-01 18:42:55 UTC
We may need to file gnome-vfs and control centre bugs for backend
(/system/proxy/mode) and configuration support, too.
Comment 2 Christian Persch 2004-10-13 10:50:49 UTC
Mass reassigning of Epiphany bugs to epiphany-maint@b.g.o
Comment 3 Christian Persch 2005-02-10 18:23:13 UTC
Mass-moving bugs from Target Milestone: 1.6 to 1.8 because of feature, UI and
string freeze.
Comment 4 Reinout van Schouwen 2005-08-08 12:22:25 UTC
Bug 123900 is probably wontfix, but for what it's worth...
Comment 5 Bastien Nocera 2006-01-12 16:36:59 UTC
Yeah, but maybe Ephy could "import" those settings to the control-center?
Comment 6 Christian Persch 2006-02-17 18:28:27 UTC
I think this is actually already possibly by using "http://wpad/wpad.dat" as the .pac URL, at least https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66057#c32 seems to indicate that.
Comment 7 Reinout van Schouwen 2008-09-06 21:18:17 UTC
Is this specific to the Mozilla backend? Seems to me we should support this with WebKit as well.
Comment 8 Xan Lopez 2009-02-26 15:35:33 UTC
AFAIK this should just work now, just set the URL in the Control Center.
Comment 9 Xan Lopez 2009-02-26 16:23:59 UTC
Nevermind, it was falling back to direct connection and I thought it was working. Reopening.
Comment 10 Michael Catanzaro 2015-06-02 17:13:38 UTC
Well I think this should work nowadays, if you change the proxy method to Automatic in System Settings and leave the URL *blank* as instructed. So I assume this is fixed; please comment or reopen if that's not the case.
