GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 148319
Ctrl-click to open bookmark in new tab
Last modified: 2005-07-27 23:56:51 UTC
Double-clicking a bookmark in the Bookmarks dialog opens it in a new window. Although there is a context menu option to open the bookmark in a new tab, it would be nice if you could ctrl-double-click to do this, just as ctrl-clicking on a link in the main window opens the link in a new tab.
Middle-click elsewhere has the semantics of 'open in a new tab'; arguably this should apply here too.
There has been discussion of this in bug 106250 and as I read it we decided against it... but now that we support middle-click/control-click also in the bookmarks menus, maybe we should reconsider? The obvious problem here is in _which window_ to open the tabs?
I don't know, but doesn't the required logic already exist for the right-click / 'Open in new tab' option? I don't suppose it much matters as long as whichever window it is is brought to the foreground.
