Description Bryan O'Sullivan 2004-07-13 22:08:32 UTC
I'm saving a file in the default .gnumeric file format. No matter what
compression level I choose under "Preferences -> Files -> Default Compression
Level", the file comes out gzip-compressed, and always the same size.

As the help text indicates that 0 indicates that the file will not be
compressed, and another number selects the compression level, this is confusing.

Also, I want to save the .gnumeric files in a CVS repository, so having plain
XML files will save me a lot of bother over having the gzip-compressed versions.
That's why I care about this at all :-)

As indicated in bug 114153 you can get no compression by using the gnumeric file
saver but specifying extension .xml
