Description jung 2004-07-09 15:18:47 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable
Package: control-center
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.6.1 2.6.1
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: gnome-background-properties crashes after invocation
Bugzilla-Product: control-center
Bugzilla-Component: background
Bugzilla-Version: 2.6.1
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.6.1.1)
Description:
Description of the crash:

The background should be set to "tiled" with a GIF image. When starting
up Gnome, the bakground is not set though, instead the standard
backgroung (a dark grey-blue) remains in place. With the Desktop
Preferences from the Gnome menue it is possible to set the background as
desired, but whether a change is made or not, the application crashes
after hitting close. Any new setting remain in place until the next
start of Gnome.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Start Gnome as usual (login)
2. Select Applications > Desktop Preferences > Desktop Background
3. Do changes or not, hit Close button in window

Expected Results:
After closing the settings-window the application crashes, settings stay
in place until logout (or next login...) or until changed.

How often does this happen?
The crash happens every time the Close button is pressed unless the
application has just been restarted after such a crash. The atual seting
does not seem to matter.
