As soon as I view the tab that www.wired.com is opening in it crashes.
I have removed all plugins and it still does it.  Also I have gone to the same
pages with mozilla 1.7 and it doesn't crash.

gcc 3.4.1
glibc 2.3.3
linux 2.6.7-mm6

Mozilla was compiled from source also using the same.

Please try the latest patch attached to bug 144012 and see if it helps.

Note for the latest patch to apply to 1.3.16 you need to apply the first patch.
 But applying the 2 patches from bug 144012 seems to have fixed the crashing I
was experiencing on various web pages.
