GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 14465
Sound Events are either all on or all off
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: control-center Severity: normal Version: 1.2.0-helix5 Synopsis: Sound Events are either all on or all off Class: sw-bug Distribution: Debian 2.2 System: Linux 2.2.14 i686 unknown C library: C library 2.1.3-10 C compiler: 2.95.2 glib: 1.2.8 GTK+: 1.2.8 ORBit: ORBit 0.5.1-helix1 libxml: libxml 1.8.2-1 gnome-print: gnome-print 0.10-5 gnome-core: gnome-core 1.2.1-helix1 Description: When attempting to turn on sounds for only certain events (ie: login and logout), I can not find a way to turn off sounds for other gnome events. For instance, I want to be able to turn off all three user interface events, but can not do so. I have tried the following means of disabling a specific sound event, and none of them seem to work: 1) In the Gnome Control Center, editing the filename for a sound event to be empty. When I return, the filename is what it was before. 2) Setting the filename to be a non-existant file. This filename is ignored, and the previous valid file is played. This may actually be a change request, and I apologize if it is. However, a complete inability to turn off certain sounds (while leaving others on) seemed like a bug to me. ------- Bug moved to this database by debbugs-export@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-01-27 16:29 ------- This bug was previously known as bug 14465 at http://bugs.gnome.org/ http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14465 Originally filed under the control-center product and general component.
