GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 144451
Gimp crashes out completely when working with Text tool & scrollmouse
Last modified: 2004-06-16 12:00:43 UTC
Create a new image in Gimp (any size, colour etc) Click on the Text tool then click within the new image and the Gimp Text Editor appears. Type in some text, click "close". Click open the font face dialog to choose a different font. Scroll down the list using the mouse's scroll wheel. Gimp instantly disappears (crashes?) completely. The new image is completely lost along with any other open Gimp windows. Interestingly, the WinXP task manager shows that although Gimp has disappeared as a task, Script Fu is still running. Hardware details: Acer Travelmate 804LCi laptop with Intel Pentium M-1.7Ghz processor, 512Mb DDR- RAM & 60Gb hdd. ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 graphics with 64Mb VRAM. Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical / USB.

Known bug, a and duplicate. Why didn't you search for similiar bugs first?
Er, I *did* check first and there doesn't appear to be a duplicate or even a similar bug. Apologies if I couldn't find it, but I did search for all Gimp 2.0.1 bugs relating to tools and text and nothing came up. Perhaps you would be kind enough to point me to the original bug and its solution? Thanks.
