save a file as tga , then reload it , it work 100% of time for me , i am on
window through

well the picture is completely bugged , vertival strips appears , it s realy
unusable , what i do is open the file with ifran view ,and resave it before
opening in gimp, or i just doesn t close gimp.

the saved picture from gimp show correctly in other app, through , the problem
only appear when opening a file in gimp that  i saved with gimp

To save the reporter a lot of unnecessary reading:  the solution is to upgrade
to the latest version of the Windows Gimp installer.
