While gnome-settings-daemon sets a lot of xsettings to control gtk, it doesn't
link the "/desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons" to "Gtk/MenuImages", this
means that gtk apps don't respoect the "menus_have_icons" gconf key.

The attached patch fixes this.
