Description of Problem:

the --tab command line option does not work


Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a new terminal window---call it (ORIGINAL)
2. From ORIGINAL, type gnome-terminal
3. from ORIGINAL, type gnome-terminal --tab

Actual Results:

A new Gnome terminal window comes up

Expected Results:

According to the documentation, a I should see a
new tab---not a new window


How often does this happen? 

Every time

This is a dup of 112146.

As for the documentation, I guess you are referring to the output of --help.
Patches are accepted with rephrasings of the explanations of the --tab and
--tab-with-profile options so that it becomes clear what they do, as I said in
83203.
