RFE: Function Key translations do not appear to work in gnome
Last modified: 2018-01-31 14:59:44 UTC
Is it possible to configure gnome-terminal, to change the mapping of the key sequences for gnome-terminal? For instance, I would like to change the mapping for Shift<Key>F9 so it returns <escape>[220z to the application running under gnome-terminal. How is this done? In CDE the Xterm is done with the The X-resources "XTerm.VT100.Translations" and "XTerm.VT100.baseTranslations" which do not seem to have any effect in gnome-terminal. Is it possible to do this in gnome-terminal.
You can't do this with gnome-terminal. The X resource database has no effect on gnome-terminal whatsoever. It would not be terribly difficult to add something like this (you'd need to really do it in vte, though)... It'd need quite a bit of thinking on how to do it The Right Way™, though. Moving to vte, as a RFE, with updated summary.
