totem-0.99.11
1. Launch Totem movie player(Launch->Applications->multimedia->Movie player)
2. Observe that movie player launches and exits with error "Totem could not 
startup.could not link video output thread"

I get the same error, and here is the command-line error:

** (totem:28453): WARNING **: libgstplay: failed initializing pipeline, error:
Could not link video output thread (cs and balance)


I'm using:
totem-0.99.11-1.1.fc2.fr
totem-gstreamer-0.99.11-1.1.fc2.fr
gstreamer-0.8.1-1

I added this bug to the gstreamer bug list as hadess thinks this is a gstreamer
issue not a totem issue. Here is a link the the gstreamer bug.
