So, I trash a bunch of stuff off my usb stick.  I then try dragging a lot of new
stuff onto it, to be told that it's full.  But no, I think, those files are
gone!  They're in the trash now, and that's on the desktop, not on the stick!

This would normally never be noticed for more bulky storage devices, but for
small devices which are often almost full this is quite a usability problem.
