Try to select a new font from the font tool.
Select font selection button.
Up to the top of drop down listbox.
Warning Unable to load unicode charmap from font file 
C:\WINDOWS\fonts/ANDMOIPA.TTF
Warning Unable to open font file c:\Windows\fonts/ANDMOIPA.TTF font Andale 
Mono IPA 16, falling back to C:\WINDOWS\fonts/8514fix.fon
followed by 
Warning Error in FT_Ser_Char_Size: 23
Symptom is no other text addition is possible.
