Description Christian Rudh 2004-05-03 19:07:30 UTC
Description of Problem:
Nautilus has problems handling files larger than 2Gb.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a folder that contains a file larger than 2GB.
2. Right click on the file.

Actual Results:
The file disappers and doesn't come back until you
close and reopen the folder.

Expected Results:
The right click menu should appear.

How often does this happen?
Allways.

Additional:
The file I tested now was actually 2.5GB, but I
have had the problem with smaller files to so I
think the limit is around 2GB.
Comment 1 Matthew Gatto 2004-11-06 07:31:58 UTC
What version is this happening on? I can't reproduce on 2.8. I tried with an 8GB
file. Can you reproduce on 2.8?
Comment 2 Christian Rudh 2004-11-07 18:00:34 UTC
The first time was with 2.6 i think. Tried now with Nautilus 2.8.0 and the
problem remains.

I am using ext3 on Gentoo, if those could be relevant factors.

perhaps that's a duplicate of #94730 ? do you have fam running ? Does it happen
if you stop it ?
Comment 4 Christian Rudh 2005-01-04 21:04:28 UTC
Yes, you were correct. If i stopped famd it worked without problem.
Comment 5 Sebastien Bacher 2005-01-04 21:44:35 UTC
ok, thanks, dup of #94730. BTW there is a patch for this bug IIRC, you should
ping you distribution about it.
