Description santhoshCDAC 2004-05-03 06:16:21 UTC
hello sir...
i have gone through your code of indic input method.....
i want to specify a particular bug in the rendering and placing of
malayalam character...
....
0d4d + od2f
0d4d + 0d35
the above two cases will generate a glyph and it need to be placed
there
itself i mean at the current character position
but
0d4d + 0d30 is a slightly different case...in which the symbol formed
as
a result of this combination is to be put before the previous
consonant.
...
and one more case that u haven't handled is the
formation of soft consonants( 5 of them) in malayalam....
...
the rendering of
0d28 +0d4d +200d(Zero Width Joiner) is not done in the patch. this
have
to give rise to a single character "softconsonant n" but instead it is
displaying "consonant n + 0d4d(chandrabindu + invisible character" not
a
single glyph...
..
can this be catered in your code...
???
..
i'm Santhosh T.V from resource centre for indian language solutions
-Malayalam which is set up in C-DAC thiruvanathapuram....
if you can reply and give me necessary guidelines or changed code..i
will be grateful to you..
...
please send a copy of ur reply mail to santhosh@erdcitvm.org toooo...
..
expecting ur reply..
Santhosh..

Have you looked at bug 121882, bug 121670, bug 121672? These are known
issues with rendering Malayalam currently. Are they the same as what
you are describing above?

Handling of U+D30 (ra) is bug 121672
Handling of ZWJ/ZWNJ in Malayalam is bug 121670
