GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 141673
no way to open nautilus window on empty desktop
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
start gnome in a dualhead setup with two separete displays :0 and :1. then on :0 all the icons appear and on :1 you feel quiete lost... however this is not only dualhead specific. often I just want to use ctrl+l to browse a smb:// share or so when I am on the desktop. then I have to click on some icon just to open the location window which then brings me to the location I wanted to go... I guess a good thing would be if: 1. all shortcuts that apply on nautilus windows also work on the desktop 2. there was some menu entry to open a new window/location (instead of 3 create ... menu entries which could be very well put under just one create... point with submenu folder/launcher/templatedocument1/templatedocument2/...)
