Description Matt T. Proud 2004-04-20 03:04:48 UTC
Despite having the nice utility, file-roller, it would prove helpful if Gnome
supported a VFS that could open archives like directories, allowing for clean
drag-and-drop and file searching.

Well there is already support for that! It's called uri-chaining and you could
do something like file:///file.tar#tar and get the content of that file. The
problem is that the current support for it is broken. I will mark this as a
duplicate of bug #131959 (tar method not won't open root dir therefore).
