I have installed the RTE for GIMP, then installed GIMP itself. When it starts 
up, it hangs and produces a command prompt box that says--- <gimp-2.0 
exe:1492:Glib-critical ** file convert.c line498 <g-convert>:assertion 'str !
=NULL' failed ---
