>Description:
Control Center crashed while I was checking out options. I had checked
out some screen savers, then moved on to sections below that. I'm using
Enlightenment. At the time: 123 Mb RAM used, 5 Free, 1 swapped in 64 Mb
swap. running 4 virtual desktops, 2 gnome bash terminals, 1 file mgr, 2
netscape nav windows, and Gnome system monitor. I think 64 Mb RAM is
getting used in 16 4Mb ramdrives at boot up (I forget what the
radmdrives are for?). I have not customized or rebuilt the kernel.
I just recently installed Redhat 6.2 using the default Gnome Workstation
option.
Running on Pentium 200, Triton 2 i430VX chipset, 128 Mb EDO RAM, Video:
STB Velocity 128 ZX (Nvidia Riva) 8 Mb RAM and Diamond Monster2 Vodoo2 8
Mb RAM. It's running very stable, but is much more sluggish and more of
a resource hog than I expected. I thought it would be faster, smoother,
and require less RAM than Win95 OSR2, but no :-(
