Description Joshua Element Green 2004-04-08 09:05:07 UTC
I've installed gnome 2.6 for Mandrake 10.0 from:
http://www.pclinuxonline.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=8648
I have totem 99.9 installed but now my video thumbnails are broken. I noticed in
gconf that items in /desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/ and
/schemas/desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/ are all truncated before the at '@' symbol.
So what should be "video@x-avi" is actually just "video", and so therefore there
are quite a few duplicate "video" entries and you can't edit them (no options to
edit in the right hand pane). I verified the data /etc/gconf, so I don't think
there is a problem there.

It appears that gconftool-2 works fine with the thumbnailer keys and so this
appears to be a gconf-editor bug. My thumbnailers were broken due to an
unrelated issue (nautilus-media set many of my thumbnailers to gst-thumbnail,
which isn't working). I set them to totem-video-thumbnailer, removed
~/.gnome/mime-info and all is well.
