Last modified: 2004-03-30 21:24:09 UTC
Windows XP/J + SP1 + latest patches. Athlon XP 1800+ 512MB RAM Background apps: Norton AntiVirus 2003 Ghost 2003 Sygate Personal Firewall 5.5 build 2516 ATOK 16 (Japanese IME) Latest GIMP 2.0.0 & GTK+ 2.2.4 20040124 download from website on 3/30/2004. ---- Installed GTK, followed by GIMP using default settings for everything. Gimp ran automatically upon install completion, asked the usual questions re: where to put the GIMP settings files, how many MB to allocate for images, etc, then started loading. Right when the splash window shows "FONTS" as it is loading, error appears: "GLib-ERROR **: gmem.c:140: failed to allocate 2147483649 bytes aborting..." in window with OK button. Clicking it brings up: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" "Runtime Error! Program C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin\gimp-2.0.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." and program exits.
