Use the "type tool", create a text and try to scroll the font list
when the software tries to show the font "wingdings.ttf" the software
crash... with a console window showing the following message :

** (gimp-2.0.exe:2868: WARNING **: Unable to load unicode charmap from font file
C:\WINDOWS\fonts\wingding.ttf

** (gimp-2.0.exe:2868): WARNING **: Unable to open font file 
C:\WINDOWS\fonts\wingding.ttf for font Wingdings 16, falling back to 
C:\WINDOWS\fonts\CASTELAR.TTF

i can use the software if I don't close the error message window,
but if I close it, the software quits
