Description babymathew 2004-03-25 06:28:26 UTC
Its an enhancement in nautilus which helps a user to change the permissions of
all the contents of a folder(including sub folders),Which gives the option for
the user like "Add to Folder Contents" and if this option is true and when the
user clicks the close button of the properties page The changed permissions
(only the Changed permissions) will be applied to all the contents of that
folder.

Append the patch file to fm-properties-window.c

Does this patch deal with the fact that permissions on a folder (particularly
+x) aren't usually what you want on folder contents.

Also please read the nautilus styleguide for formatting details.

Bug 44767 is the same as this bug.

There is 1 other problem than recursive directory changes:
- When selecting several files, the group of the files cannot be changed.

Gnome developers certainly use the shell, as the GUI is useless.

So what's up guys ? This problem has been reported 5 years ago, and we are now
in Gnome 2.10 ???
Comment 7 Dave Wolovich 2005-06-13 23:45:49 UTC
Please add this functionality. This is crucial to the usefulness of Nautilus as
a file manager.
