How often does this happen? This is the first time I tried to use the application. Additional Information: This is on a beta test machine that was cleanly installed, then upgraded two days later. version of rhythmbox-0.6.8-2 Using kernel-2.6.3-2.1.253.2.1 also, this kernel uses alsa sound drivers instead of OSS drivers. This is alsa aborting for some reason or another. I suspect your GStreamer alsa output configuration is messed up somehow. I'm passing this one down to GStreamer. Probably what alsasink needs to do is to test the user's configuration before actually trying it, and give a clean error. I haven't looked at the alsa API so I'm not sure if that's possible.
The problem is an assertion failure inside alsalib that's supposed to have been fixed. Please see the alsalib bug attached to bug 134007 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 134007 ***
