Details

Description Alek Kowalczyk 2004-03-21 09:30:08 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable
Package: gnome-panel
Severity: critical
Version: GNOME2.4.1 2.4.x
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: Clicking on menu button crashes gnome-panel
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel
Bugzilla-Component: Panel
Bugzilla-Version: 2.4.x
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.4.0.1)
Description:
Description of the crash:
Clicking on "menu button" causes gnome-panel to crash.

The same crash occures when You have placed "menu bar", but in this case
You even do not need to click - it crashes exactly after panel load.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Place menu button somewhere
2. Click
3. Observe crash.

Expected Results:
Menu appears

How often does this happen?
Everytime

Additional Information:
Gnome from Debian "sarge" packages. Only standard menu (no custom items
or manual menu editing). May be connected with some menu tuning made by
Debian, but even if so, wrong items should be rather ignored than cause
crashes.

Debugging Information:

Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnome-panel'

The .recently-used file which caused the crash
Comment 2 Alek Kowalczyk 2004-03-21 16:02:49 UTC
After renaming .recently-used file (I have attached it into the bug),
the panel stopped crashing.

Comment 3 Vincent Untz 2004-03-22 20:29:45 UTC
You probably need latest gnome-vfs package in Debian (it's fixed).
