Description Stanislav Brabec 2004-03-15 15:42:36 UTC
If the focus policy is set to "follow mouse" (instead of the default
"click-to-focus"), it is impossible to rename icons located on the desktop
- the highlighted textbox will never get the focus.

How to reproduce:

1. Set focus policy to "Activate window when mouse is over it" using
"Desktop Settings->Windows"
2. Open aby window on current desktop.
3. Right click on one desktop icon, e.g. the user's home directory and
select "Rename"
4. Try to type in anything...

This was a bug in metacity that is fixed now. It also affected panel applets
requiring text entry (e.g. the dictionary applet).
