Description Kevin L. Mitchell 2004-02-15 19:19:48 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 1 (Yarrow)
Package: gnome-panel
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.4.0 2.4.x
Gnome-Distributor: GNOME.Org
Synopsis: Drawers fail to work across gnome-panel restarts
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel
Bugzilla-Component: Panel
Bugzilla-Version: 2.4.x
Description:
Description of Problem:

If I create a drawer in the panel and put some launchers in it, things
work fine...until I restart gnome-panel. (I've tried full reboot, log
out/log in, and even killall gnome-panel with the session manager
restarting it.) After the restart, the icons are present in the drawer,
but clicking them does nothing--not even closing the drawer.
Right-clicking brings up the panel menu instead of a launcher menu.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create a drawer.
2. Add a launcher to the drawer.
3. Restart the panel.

Actual Results:
Nothing.

Expected Results:
The application gets launched.

How often does this happen?
Seems to be incredibly consistent, as far as I can see. Happens 100% of the time.

Additional Information:
Bug Buddy seems to think there are more recent versions of gnome-panel than I have. If so, is there a work-around for this vintage? I'd rather not have to do a lot of work to correct the problem...

Thanks for the bug report. This is supposedly fixed in gnome-panel >
2.4.1.
