Description Jason Tackaberry 2004-02-15 17:13:10 UTC
I regularly use alt-<number> to switch between tabs in gnome-terminal.
Using latest packages from Fedora Core development, and
gnome-terminal-2.5.1-1, alt-# only works if the menubar is shown. I hide
the menubar to conserve space, but when it is hidden, the alt-# shortcut
doesn't work.

This worked properly with gnome 2.4.

I should elaborate on what I mean by "doesn't work." With the menubar
hidden, alt-# keys get passed through to the process running inside
gnome-termainl.

With the menubar visible, the alt-# keys get passed through only if
there are no tabs. With multiple tabs, gnome-terminal used to switch
to the appropriate tab #. Based on the fact that gnome-terminal 2.5
still does this if the menubar is visible, the fact that it doesn't
recognize these shortcut keys with a hidden menubar strikes me as a bug.
