Description Ivo Martins 2004-01-08 03:33:38 UTC
Well, don't know if this has been posted, did a quick search and nothing.

I think Gimp should be a one window only aplication, just like Photoshop
and other programs, with various toolboxes opening inside the main window,
just like Photoshop.

I use gimp regulary, and it is a little bit annoying all the opened
windows, etc.

Why is gimp this multiple windows aproach, widget limitations?, or just a
choise?

Please note that Photoshop is only using the WiW approach on Windows
and it does so because of limitations of the windowing system. We
don't go this way because WiW it is bad user interface.

You should try the 2.0 preview. It allows you to group the GIMP
windows so that there aren't that many of them.
