GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 130335
use system http proxy user/password gconf entries
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
If the user has specified authentication in GNOME control centre's Network applet, the keys /system/http_proxy/authentication_user and /system/http_proxy/authentication_password hold the info, but we don't seem to pass it to mozilla.
Using keyring seem like a better fix for this now *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 130336 ***

Reopening since gnome keyring integration won't happen for quite some time.
I though about just adding the user/pass combination to the password manager, but I need the realm for that, and it's impossible to know it beforehand. The rpoerted of dup bug 148263 said he had to re-enter the credentials every time he starts ephy; but as far as I can see, those should be stored in the password manager!? Any ideas, Marco?
To clarify, it does store them in the password manager, but I'm still prompted every time I start Epiphany - the dialog pops up with the values filled in but it is still annoying to have to click "Ok". Proxy settings seem like something I ought to be able to set and forget about..
Mass reassigning of Epiphany bugs to epiphany-maint@b.g.o
Re-duping since this is impossible to implement without the same backend access that gnome-keyring integration needs. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 130336 ***
