Description of Problem:
Irssi bugs badly when you have more than one tab
open in the same term.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. start gnome-term
2. screen irssi
3. open another tab
4. switch tabs, after some time irssi goes all
blue or the text disappears

Actual Results:
Term screen goes all blue / text disappears

Expected Results:
Clear text

How often does this happen? 
Every couple of minutes
