GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 129511
No way to re-engage language auto detection
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Currently in the interface, there is no way to turn encoding auto detection back on once an encoding has been specified manually through the view menu. This becomes a problem when the encoding is detected incorrectly. I may need to set the encoding myself for the page I'm viewing but then set it back to the auto detection mechanism after I'm done with the page. For Japanese users at least, this is a very common task.
I should also note, it seems like the work around is to close the current window and open another, but that is far from ideal.
already fixed in cvs
