On Gimp 1.3.23 (from http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/unstable.html) on Win2k SP4 French. On "save Image" window, click on button "Determine File Type" result ugly list 1. Save image with "File/Save" (if it's a new image) or "File/Save as...". 2. On "Save Image" window, Click on button "Determine File Type:", the list appear with many blank. I'll try to post some screenshots. Note : Seems that top of list always begin from the same vertical position.

This is not a bug but a feature. The selected menu appears under the mouse button. This is the desired behaviour. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 126111 ***
Perhaps it's a feature, but it's ugly as hell. This is not IMHO correct behaviour. Either we should keep the scroll and the upper limit of the dropdown should be just above the "From file extension" entry, or we drop the scrollbar and open up the whole menu. As it is, this is wrong. Dave.
As it stands the behaviour is perfectly right, IMO it doesn't look ugly and anyway it's a GTK+ problem, certainly not ours.
I agree with Dave and with the reporters of this bug report and of bug #126111: the results are ugly. I'd rather not set a default entry in the menu so that the empty area does not appear. I hope that the underlying GTK+ problem can be solved, but isn't there anything that we could do in the GIMP to implement some workaround?
No. <- That's a period, meant to end this discussion. We certainly have better things to do.
