Description Santiago Erquicia 2003-12-03 05:35:36 UTC
Description of Problem:
I have a Document folder under my home directory
that it is a symlink to a folder in another
partition. When I browse that folder (either
using the tree or the folder icon), it follows to
the original folder. I would like to keep it on
my home subdirectories.

I can do that if I expand the tree without
selecting it.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Click a folder that it is a symlink
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The tree moves to the original folder

Expected Results:
The tree keeps at the location I selected the folder

How often does this happen?
Always

Additional Information:
Nautilus 2.4.0

This is has been discussed to death on the mailing list and probably
in many other bugs. The behaviour you see is consistent with what
nautilus has always done and, for what is worth, with what apple OSX
and Windows do.

Both kinds of behaviour have pro and cons and you can go check the
lenghty discussion in the mailing list archive if. Anyway it was
decided to keep the symlink behaviour the way it is now.

I think the bug can be closed.
