Description burden123 2003-11-30 19:51:06 UTC
I'm using a file-share program that was writing to the same directory I was
trying to rename a file in. The list has about a 5 second refresh rate
(approx.) in this situation. I clicked a file and started renaming it when
a “list refresh” occurred. Focus was lost to the file i was renaming (while
typing even). Unfortunate if the key you were pressing was DEL key --
resulting in a frantic search through the trash bin for a file you're not
really sure the name of. (hey, it happened)

Because of my “I-CAN-BEAT-THE-TRAIN” complex, i tried again to complete the
rename a couple times which apparently can crash nautalis if you persist
trying to rename the file. The crashes can be re-created, but, i imagine
most would switch to the icon view which handles this situation much better.

Thanks for the bug report. The part of your report about loosing the
focus while the folder is updating is a duplicate of bug 87701, so I'm
going to mark it as such.
If you can recreate the crash, please file a separate bug (including a
stack trace) about it.
