Description Joe Drew 2003-11-19 04:48:21 UTC
Running gnome-session 2.4.1 on my iBook, which initially had a
misconfigured /etc/hosts, I got a warning message that my hostname couldn't
be looked up, and that I should add my hostname to /etc/hosts. I did so,
and then clicked on "Try again," at which point the desktop & panel started
up. However, the dialogue popped up again, and this time clicking on the
buttons wouldn't allow me to dismiss it. In fact, the only way to get it to
go away was to click the "X" in Metacity, at which point the dialogue went
away and didn't come back.

Really, this dialog should be removed altogether- as far as I can
tell it has no impact anymore.
