GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 125859
Support PSD files with CMYK data
Last modified: 2004-07-23 11:41:57 UTC
Someone sent me a photoshop file; gimp can't read it. If I use "convert" (ImageMagick-5.4.7-10) to translate it to a jpeg, I get a CMYK jpeg, and gimp can read that. When gimp loads the .psd, the corruption that results looks like "interpreting CMYK data as RGB." So I suspect this is easy to fix, given that both RGB and CMYK JPEGs *do* work. gimp-1.3.21

Given that it is libjpeg that handles the CMYK to RGB conversion, this is surely not that easy to fix. But you are right, it could be relatively straight forward using the CMYK routines from libgimpcolor...
Dupe of bug 102910?
Yup, good call. Thanks Brian. (You know you can now resolve these yourself?) Cheers, Dave. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 102910 ***
