GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 125503
Nautlius crushes on samba browsing and continues restarting and crashing
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Description of Problem: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. browse samba drive 2. do any action 3. nothing special - sometimes it just happens Actual Results: nautilus (randomly) crashes when im doing actions on my samba drive. It crashes, show me the error message, tries to restart, crashes, tries to restart, crashes, etc. Expected Results: How often does this happen? just sometimes - once a hour or once a week Additional Information: [#bash]nautilus ** ERROR **: file nautilus-directory.c: line 546 (add_to_hash_table): assertion failed: (g_hash_table_lookup (directory->details->file_hash, file->details->relative_uri) == NULL) aborting... PS: my File Server is running Mandrake Linux 9.1, sharing the 180GB xfs-partition on Samba. The Client is runnig Mandrake Linux 9.2 (same thing since 6 Months with 9.1), accessing the Samba partition as a user (dmask=777,fmask=666).
Basically same as above, except my file server is running Red Hat Linux 9 and the client is running Windows XP
Thanks for the bug report. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused the crash. Please see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/getting-traces.cgi for more information about getting a useful stack trace. Also, which version of Nautilus are you using?
The failed assertion shows that this is a duplicate of bug 120222. I'm reopening to mark as such.
