Calum,

Is this an accessibility issue?
Comment 2 Calum Benson 2003-12-04 15:10:11 UTC
The documented way to move files or folders to the Trash is with
Edit->Move to Trash (shortcut Ctrl-T), which works for me in 2.5...
does this work for you? Delete key should certainly work as well,
though, that also works for me in 2.5.

(If this is a bug I don't think it's an accessibility issue
specifically, since the function just isn't available at all-- it
would only be an accessibility problem if the function was available
but not in any accessible way.)
Comment 3 Eunice Chang 2004-02-19 16:24:46 UTC
The bug regarding the delete key has been fixed in 2.5. However, a
confirmation dialog box is requested for the delete files/folders
option to prevent an accidental delete of a large directory, so this
bug is being marked as 'enhancement'.

I like [delete] to just delete to Trash with no confirmation. Maybe there should
be a global setting to confirm [delete]'s/Move-to-Trash's that you can change in
the properties UI of the Trash icon.
