I'm pretty sure that ctrl+tab is supposed to move backwards through
items in the tab chain so this is wontfix imo.Although ephy doesn't do
the correct behavior either. STill need input from calum though.
Comment 4 Calum Benson 2003-10-03 17:52:17 UTC
[Shift-]Ctrl-Tab is used to move focus out of controls that otherwise
use Tab for themselves; we shouldn't use it for anything other than
that IMHO.

[Shift-]Ctrl-PgUp/PgDn and [Shift-]Ctrl-Alt-PgUp/PgDn are already
implemented for switching tabs, so that should be plenty sufficient :)

Just a question on this bug (as I was going to file this myself, but found this):

Many apps I know of that use tabs use CTRL+Tab to switch through tabs, including
two major Web Browsers: Firefox and Opera.
What problem with switching focus does Epiphany have that they don't, and is
this problem really reason enough to break compatibility with them?
Comment 6 Christian Persch 2005-11-16 22:04:29 UTC
Ctrl-Tab is reserved for moving the focus. No gtk+ program with a notebook
widget changes tabs with Ctrl-Tab; it's firefox that's out of line if it does that.
