GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 122235
I have to select workspaces linearly when using multiple columns in the pager
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Description of Problem: If I choose, into the desktop switcher into the panel, to have multiple columns, and right-click over the title of a window, I see a menu to move the window to one of the desktops. Unfortunately, the choice happens by number, wich is uncomfortable (I have to *count* to find where I want to send the window). In general, that would be very higher usability if there was "move window to" left, right,up,down or only "left/right" or "up/down" in case of only one row/column.
There are keybindings for this already, which you can configure using the gnome control center Keyboard Shortcuts capplet. Alternatively, you can rename your workspaces in the pager preferences to call them something like Upper Left, Upper Right, etc. to make it more obvious. We are however considering what that menu should look like for workspaces. Please see the bug below: *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 110904 ***
