Stock ticker can't retrieve stock data. I am behind a proxy and proxy
servers are set properly in the "applications->desktop prefs->network proxy".

a quick fix hack, if anyone cares.

problem is beyond just the format of the contents of the page. whether
its not calling gnome-vfs properly or gnome-vfs is screwed, I don't know.
