Description Spider (D.m.D. Ljungmark) 2003-09-11 03:49:54 UTC
The ftp and ssh modules should have a password dialog (akin to epiphany) so
one can enter such information when you don't have anonymous ftp, or
ssh-agent + keys setup for the remote sites.

How epiphany does it would be a "good" example, as it is a rather simple
manner.

For FTP, see bug #114572
This would also be nice to be able to authenticate with ssh, but
sending a password to ssh through a pipe is a bit tricky, if you can
write a patch for that, you're welcome :) Anyway, the current plan is
to have a sftp method for 2.6, hopefully it handles authentication.
Comment 2 Danielle Madeley 2004-04-15 05:58:27 UTC
The sftp method does indeed offer password authentication (just confirmed it).

Since the FTP component is a duplicate, can this bug be closed?
