Description of Problem:


Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Drag a bookmark from the mozilla adress-bar to
the Desktop
2. 
3. 

Actual Results:
An URL-Link is created with the default-icon as
the icon


Expected Results:
Create an URL-Link with the website's favicon (if
present) as the icon

This sounds like a nice proposal. The question is where to put the icon.

Maybe nautilus could cooperate with epiphany's favicon cache? It's under
.gnome2/epiphany/favicon_cache/ .

Reinout: Thanks for pointing this out!

For such an integration, we'd have to add a new dnd target which ensures that
the .ico file is saved and we get its filename. Christian, do you think this can
still be done for GNOME 2.12?

Starting with version 3.28, nautilus will not handle the "files on desktop background" feature. For better alternatives, read this blog post https://csorianognome.wordpress.com/2017/12/21/nautilus-desktop-plans/
