GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 120169
Maximize misbehaves on multihead displays
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I have two displays. The left hand one (zero) has gnome panels on bottom and right hand side. When I maximize a window it expands to fill the whole screen. The bottom and right hand sides fall underneath the panels (which makes it hard to use the window bottons in the top right-hand corner). On the other hand when I maximize a window on the right hand screen (which has no panles), it does not fill the whole screen but has a gap on the bottom and right hand side as if it thinks there are panels there. For reference here is the relevant part of /etc/X11/XF86Config Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "Matrox PowerDesk configured." Screen 0 "Display 1" LeftOf "Display 2" Screen "Display 2" 0 0 InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer" InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard" option "Xinerama" EndSection
I can't wait until Gnome 2.4 comes out so that we don't have to keep seeing this bug reported. But anyway, this is fixed in the latest versions of metacity and gnome-panel. Try the super-fantastico Gnome 2.4 Beta release! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 86682 ***
