GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 119553
segfault on a page load
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
After loading http://www.tranceaddict.com/ & entering the site I'd clicked on the 'New Tracks' link and suddenly galeon crashed. I would've send a core dump unfortunately gnome apps does not generate them. Instead I saw some useless dialog which only told me it had crashed and that galeon could not be used right now. I wasn't able to reproduce this problem with mozilla. The page I've mentioned worked fine with mozilla.
Thanks for the bug report. Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused the crash. Please see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/getting-traces.cgi for more information about getting a useful stack trace.
Thank you for the link! I've read the document but unfortunately the web I'd mentioned in the bug report has been updated just today(Mon.Aug.11.2003) and does not cause that crash anymore. So I wasn't able to reproduce the bug again. I'm afraid now that it renders this bug report useless :( Next time I'll know how to do a stack dump.
Okay, well then I'll close this bug.
Created attachment 19142 [details] GDB output and stack dump
Hello! It's me again. It seems like I had triggered the same bug again. Somewhere else than at tranceaddict. I suspect tab opening code or whatever that manages that task beacause galeon crashes during page loading at pages which use popup ads. I created an attachment with a stack dump. I'm in the lack of time right now because of school so excuse my briefness nevertheless if you have further questions I would gladly answer and/or help with whatever you'll be in the need of.
